RIVERFISH

Built during an era when the river's edge brushed up against its doorstep, this charming abode originally served as a weekend escape for the farming owner, whose primary residence was nestled in the hinterland town of Mullumbimby. This original 1920’s cottage featured only one central room, encircled by a subsequently enclosed veranda that stood elevated from the ground to shield the house from the river's periodic surges.

After serving generations of families in its original condition, the time had finally come for Studio Noakes to embark on the expansion of RiverFish. This project involved elevating the original cottage and adding a two-bedroom dwelling beneath its structure, all with the aim of tailoring it to the needs of contemporary families while paying homage to the home's timeless character.
